Saying Goodbye SUCKS!

German Shepard, cod, hemp oil

Owning a pet is one of the best and most rewarding experiences.  There is something about their unconditional love that makes your relationship with them so special and hard for non pet people to understand.  The only downside is you go into this special bond knowing you will ultimately out live them.  Most people are lucky to get 10-15 years with their fur family, some aren't lucky enough to even get that many.  Both of the handsome boys pictured above (Maverick on the left and Jake on the right) have been in our family for the last 12 years.  Unfortunately, our families lost both of them within the last 6 months.

Jake, as many German Shepard's do, struggled with hip dysplasia for the last four or five years.  Two and a half years ago when I started my journey in this industry, Jake was my inspiration.  Not only was he my inspiration, he was my professional taste tester.  If your animals have enjoyed the taste of my products over the years, you have him to thank.

Jake used Love Drops and the 1,000mg Pawsible Love drops in addition to his other daily meds and `acupuncture.  While the combination of all the above helped keep him comfortable for years, unfortunately he recently began showing signs telling his family it was time to go.  Over Easter, we began saying our goodbyes.  We brought him McDonalds, we drove him around the block in a golf cart and my nephews blew bubbles with him-one of his favorite things to do with the boys.  My brother and his family did everything to make sure Jakes final days were his happiest ones yet.

Even with proper goodbyes such as this, it doesn't make it suck any less.  The house becomes too quiet and the sight of their water bowls and toys make you cry.  My nephew said it best when he said the house doesn't feel like a home without him.  As painful and heartbreaking as the final goodbye is, the amount of love and joy you receive from them when they are here make it all worth it.

Rest in peace boys.  We will never forget you!
